The {Un}Official Fancy Dress World Champs
The Rotorua Ekiden Relay is proud to boast the {Un}Official Fancy Dress World Championships! Over the years we’ve seen some pretty outrageous costumes, but we’re always excited to see what participants will come up with next. Whether you’re making your costume from recycled boxes and egg cartons, or importing something hand-beaded and extravagant, we want you to dress up.
At the Rotorua Ekiden, the only people that stand out, are the ones who AREN’T dressed up. So get into it!
Now teams can compete as the Fastest Fancy Dress runners as well as the Fanciest (best dressed). There are prizes for both categories with guest judges who are waiting for you to impress them.
Competition Rules
All teams must abide by the general competition rules.
All team members must be dressed in full fancy dress costume throughout the event.
Fastest Fancy Dress teams must start on the official Fancy Dress World Champs starting gun
All teams who wish to be considered for the Fancy Dress World Champs competition must have their photo taken together as a team at the end of the race. There will be a dedicated photographer on hand so make your team known to them when you cross the finish line
Please note there will be no team photos at the start of the race
